Information about Research Center "Module"

Research Center "Module" (RC Module) is an innovative Russian development company designing high-end RISC/DSP processors, mixed-signal ASICs and real-time video-image processing systems. RC Module was established in 1990 and today it is one of the few Russian firms that are leaders in the area of high technology embedded systems both in Russia and in the world. RC Module has a staff of highly qualified engineers and scientists using the most modern tools and prototype manufacturing equipment, which permits a very short design cycle from the concept to the finished prototype ready for mass production.

Business segments:

  • RISC/DSP silicon Intellectual Property (SIP) and high-speed mixed-signal Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC)
  • Real-time video image processing systems
  • High-reliability embedded computers for using in extreme conditions

RC Module provides embedded system design services to a variety of avionics and space equipment manufacturers. In cooperation with other Russian enterprises RC Module has developed a wide range of embedded computers for the International Space station and telecommunication satellites. The embedded computers are used in failure-resistant control system of space vehicles in extreme conditions.

RC Module offers an affordable electronics engineering design service for projects both large and small.š Our design facilities are equipped for nearly any mixed-signal, digital, embedded, or microcontroller design works and our manufacturing facilities enable to work from product concept up through prototypes manufacturing.

One of the main directions is development of RISC/DSP silicon IP and high-speed mixed-signal ASIC. RC Module has many years of experience in digital and mixed-signal ASIC design. By 2007 RC Module have developed:

  • NeuroMatrix® NM6403/04 DSP is a high performance microprocessor with combination of VLIW and SIMD architecture. The processor is based on NeuroMatrix® Core (NMC) that includes two main units: 32-bit RISC processor and patented 1-64-bit VECTOR co-processor.
  • 1879÷á1ô interface terminal that provides complete, flexible interface between host processor and MIL-STD-1553B redundant data bus via external transceivers, implementing Bus Controller (BC), Remote Terminal (RT), Monitor Terminal (MT) or simultaneous RT/MT modes.
  • 1879BM3 - Digital Signal Memory SoC - a high performance accumulation and signal processing System-On-A-Chip with integrated 600 MS/s ADCs and DACs used in digital signal-processing systems.

RC Module is involved in development of image processing systems and design for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) solutions. RC Module has developed the TraficMonitor's product family. This is a product line of video image processing systems for real time traffic data collection. New "TrafficMonitor" Systemš (TMC) integrates a high-resolution color camera with a "day/night" feature, a high performance image processing unit with WiFi interface in a single waterproof enclosure.

RC Module collaborates with leading Russian Universities and has its own University Program. It was established to provide universities with assistance in applying digital signal processing in their course curricula and research projects.

One of the most important concepts of the RC Module research and development policy is partnership collaboration with other high-tech companies worldwide.š The company has a joint project with leading companies in Russia and in the world. RC Module carries out a foreign trade policy, takes part at Russian and International exhibitions and fairs. RC Module has joined the "Design And Reuse" Partner program and Synopsys IP Catalyst Program.š Since 1998 RC Module is a member of Texas Instruments "DSP Third Party Network Program" and the only Fujitsu's ASIC Design Center in Russia.
